The Mahoney family has been paving the streets of Baltimore for over 60 years. Our Founder Leonard Francis (L.F.) Mahoney was involved in the paving and construction industry from a young age, having worked as a manual laborer in the building of Byrd Stadium at the University of Maryland while also playing defensive end on the Terrapins 1952 Sugar Bowl winning football team. After college, Len worked multiple construction and paving jobs before starting L.F. Mahoney in 1963. In the first 20 years, the company grew from a small residential paver to focusing on the larger paving needs of local governments, utilities and general contractors.
Len’s son, William Mahoney joined the business in 1980. Over the last 40 years, William and current Senior Vice President Joseph Thanner have built a culture of trust, timely service and safety to all of our projects driven by a team of highly-skilled supervisors and field operators—many which have been with the company for decades.
William Mahoney continues to be the President and Owner of L.F. Mahoney and another Mahoney generation has joined the team to ensure continuity of service to our customers across the Baltimore region.
